Downstairs and living space

The property has central heating, constant hot water and a wood burning stove in the lounge room. The Everhot stove in the kitchen provides a constant warmth and will always be ready to provide hearty meals after adventurous days out. There is a lovely selection of antique and some modern furniture in the house and downstairs the flooring is solid oak throughout, carpets upstairs in all but one bedroom, this middle bedroom has beautiful original Elm floorboards.

After entering through the stable door into the living room there is the coat and boot area for you to take off your wet and muddy gear after enjoying a perfect day in the countryside. Stairs on your left will take you up to the bedrooms and to the family bathroom. A step down brings you into the cosy living room which has 2 large comfortable sofas focusing on the original inglenook fireplace that houses a cast iron wood burning stove and the original bread oven. 

Kitchen

A couple of steps up lead you into the fully equipped modern kitchen that has a everything you’d need, an Everhot cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, toaster, kettle, and a dining table that will comfortably sit 8 people. The Everhot stove will always remain on thereby ready to cook anytime of the day. We provide cooking basics such as tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper and a range of cooking utensils, serving dishes and other equipment is also available. A door leads out to a gravel area with steps leading up to the garden and the decked area overlooking the valley.

Upstairs

Bedroom 1 - as you reach the top of the stairs a good sized bedroom is on your right hand side with views across the valley. King size bed with sprung mattress and microfibre duvet and pillows. This room has exposed beams, a large chest of drawers and bedside tables. Sleeps 2.

Bedroom 2 - a smaller sized bedroom with a king size bed with a sprung mattress with microfibre pillows and duvet. There is with a large chest of drawers and characterful original bare Elm floorboards and exposed beams. Bedside tables. Sleeps 2.

Bedroom 3 - is the largest bedroom with views across the valley. King size bed with a sprung mattress and microfibre pillows and duvet. Chest of drawers and bedside tables. This room has a vaulted ceiling with exposed timbers and en-suite shower room with toilet and sink. Sleeps 2.

Galleried Loft room - The steep ‘hit and miss’ stairs lead up to the loft room with 2 single beds with views across the valley from the velux roof lights. Desk and chairs. The loft room has restricted headroom (at the sides) with a bannister overlooking the corridor beneath, please note this room is not completely private. Microfibre bedding. Sleeps 2.

Family bathroom - with a shower over the bath, toilet and sink.

Further along is a hallway with a selection of storage cupboards where the washing machine and tumble dryer is housed. A pair of fully glazed patio doors open out on a gravel area where you can access steps to the garden and the decked area. 

Outside

Front courtyard - stone patio surrounded by dry stone walls with steps leading around the rear of the property. 

Rear - lockable bike store and wood store

Garden and decked area - accessed from either the house or along the gravel path from the courtyard at the rear. With stunning views along the Slad valley in both directions. A perfect spot to enjoy and early morning coffee and watch the sunrise over the valley or to enjoy evening drinks. Table and chairs with a fixed bench on the stone wall. Raised beds with cottage herbs and garden plants.

Parking is on the road alongside the dry stone wall that borders the neighbouring property (The Old Chapel).

Hairdryer provided

Freshly laundered cotton linen and quality towels are included in the rental and are changed weekly. A washing machine and tumble dryer is provided for you to use, along with an iron and ironing board.
